The partners of Kennet and Avon Medical Partnership are wholeheartedly behind the Junior Doctors who are striking in support of pay restoration. They are also firmly behind the planned Consultant strikes with the same aim.
We do understand that there will be disruption and cancelled appointments and operations but we are confident that our colleagues have made provision for emergencies and that safety will be maintained.
Of course, it is possible that the strikes can still be avoided if NHS employers and the Secretary of State for Health come to the negotiating table in good faith with a sensible, reasonable offer. The BMA have repeatedly made it clear they are ready to and willing to talk.
